Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable a detector for detecting the weak magnetic field generated by the brain in the head of a human being and the position of the current source generating the brain magnetic field to conduct the detection with high precision by supporting a particular magnetic field detecting assembly with a particular supporter having a particular inherent frequency. CONSTITUTION: An extremely low temperature container 12 comprises an outer cavity 13 having a head cover 28 and an inner cavity 15 surrounded by the outer cavity 13 via a vacuum heat insulating layer. The head cover 28 has a curved portion extending at least longer than 10 cm from the inion, covering the lower portion of the head. A supporter 18 having an inherent frequency of 10 Hz is arranged in the inner cavity 15. A magnetic field detecting assembly 5 having brain magnetic field detecting coils built in cylinders 128... and a magnetic field noise detecting means consisting of a 0-order differential magnetometer immersed in liquid helium for magnetic field noise from the outer environment and a cylindrical 1-order differential gradiometer is supported by the supporter 18.
