Abstract:
PURPOSE: A safe feed, containing propolis, having improved antimicrobial activity and effect on prevention and treatment of fish diseases as well as preservation quality for a long period.
CONSTITUTION: A feed for fish obtained by normally blending propolis, colleted by bees and containing resinous substances as a material and further resin.balsam, wax, oily substances, pollen, etc., as constituent ingredients with a general feed. The propolis is normally used as it is or wax is removed or extracted with a water-soluble organic solvent to dewax the propolis. Various saccharides are added to crystallize, solidify to solubilize the propolis in water, etc., for use.
