Title:
FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL FOR PORCELAIN ENAMELING AND PRETREATMENT TO PORCELAIN ENAMELING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0565600
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate blasting and Ni treatment and to improve the adhesion of porcelain enameling by subjecting a ferritic stainless steel in which C, Si, Mn, P, S, N, Nb, Cr or the like are specified to oxidation treatment under prescribed conditions.

CONSTITUTION: A ferritic stainless steel constituted of, by weight, ≤0.02% C, 0.05 to 0.5% Si, 0.05 to 0.75% Mn, ≤0.03% P, ≤0.03% S, 0.003 to 0.02% N, ≤1% Nb as well as ≥1.5 Nb/(93/12C+93/14N), 11.5 to 30% Cr, 0.01 to 0.3% Al, 0.01 to 5% Ni and the balance Fe is melted. This steel is subjected to oxidation treatment under the conditions satisfying Y≤(1/25)X-47 and 300≤X≤800 {where Y denotes the m.p. (°C) and X denotes the heat treating temp. (°C)}.
