To obtain a fiber suitable for a separator, having excellent thinning properties by drawing, low dewier and excellent strength after splitting while possessing hydrophilicity, namely retention of electrolyte.
This fiber comprises a mixture of two or more kinds of ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymers having different melting points and satisfying the following formulas 4≤{MP(a1)-MP(a2)}≤40 (1) and 6≤{WP(a1)+ WP(a2)}≤100 (2) [MP(a1) is the melting point (°C) of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol- based copolymer (a1) having the highest melting point in the mixture of two or more kinds of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymers; MP(a2) is the melting point of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymer (a2) having the lowest melting point in the mixture of two or more kinds of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymers; WP(a1) is wt.% of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymer (a1) in the mixture of two or more kinds of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymers; WP(a2) is wt.% of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymer (a2) in the mixture of two or more kinds of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymers.
