PURPOSE: To provide the titled fiber with favorable gloss and flexible, nervy feel, having such section that the major sides of approximate rectangles have been contacted, respectively, with the three sides of a triangle.
CONSTITUTION: The objective fiber can be obtained by extruding a thermoplastic polymer melt through a spinneret having such shape that three boomerang- shaped slits of nearly equal size and Y-shaped slits of nearly equal size have been mutually conjugated so as to contact between each convex part of the former and corresponding each concave part of the latter, with the length ratio for the three sides of the triangle l1:l2:l3=1:1 to 1.2:1 to 1.2, the ratio of the major side to the minor side of the rectangle ln/mn satisfying the relationship: 0.2≤ln/mn≤0.8 and the angle θ formed by the adjacent minor sides of the rectangles satisfying the relationship: 90°≤θ≤130°. A cooling air stream with a speed of ≥0.3m/sec is blown against the spun yarn at a point 3 to 50cm apart right under the spinneret, said yarn being taken at a draft of ≥80.
