Abstract:
To provide a remote DASD function for writing data from a regular center side host only to a sub center side volume by using an existent remote FCU.
In a file control unit 10A on the side of a regular center 1A, the machine numbers of virtual volumes, which do not really exist but are virtually handled as assumed to exist under its control, are defined in advance and when the machine number of any virtual volume is designated and a write command is received from a host 2A on the side of the regular center 1A, data to be written according to the relevant write command are not written in the volume on the side of the regular center 1A but are transferred through a communication line 6 to a sub center 1B.
