To provide a means capable of conveniently and efficiently distributing respectively different files to each client in a file distribution system.
In this file distribution system configured by connecting a distribution management device for managing file distribution, an FTP (file transfer protocol) server and two or more distribution destination PCs, the distribution management device first prepares a distribution file list in which files each distribution destination PC should request the FTP server to transfer are listed for each distribution destination PC on the basis of a predetermined distribution plan and makes the FTP server store the distribution file list. Next, the distribution management device notifies each distribution destination PC of distribution. Each distribution destination PC that has received the distribution notification downloads its own distribution file list from the FTP server, and thereafter starts to download files written in the distribution file list.
