PURPOSE: To provide a file managing device which can eliminate the necessity for considering the file management to users and also can attain the effective application of the recording acpacity and a convenient file management form to a file device.

CONSTITUTION: A file managing device changes the recording position of an entity file based on the prescribed conditions. Then the managing device is provided with the file devices A, B and C which are coincident with the recording positions of the entity file, a management table 13 which contains the conditions to decide a file recording means for recording the entity file, and a control means 12 which records the entity file to the file device that is decided by the deciding conditions. In such a constitution, the file device is automatically decided for recording the entity file so that a user has not to consider the file management. Furthermore the recording capacity of each file device can be effectively used and a convenient file management form is secured.
