In the file recording apparatus for recording the coded data consisting of dividable partially coded data and the management information for managing the coded data into a file, a media data processor 103 sets predetermined data size including at least one partially coded data. Data to have the predetermined data size set by the setting means are generated using the one or more continuous partially code data out of the coded data. The data of the predetermined data size are sequentially recorded into the file using the predetermined data size to be generated as a recording unit, thereby recording the management information corresponding to the coded data into the file.
