Abstract:
To provide a file recording method and device in which an already recorded file can be reliably reproduced even with new scratch, dirt, or the like in an information recording medium.
Information showing at least physical recording area of a file out of file managing information managing a file is recorded in a data area and a spare area, and the file is reproduced based on information of two areas. Even when new defect or the like are caused, since File Entry, that is, a position and size of image data are held at two places, even if one is lost, the image can be reproduced. Also, the device can cope with subsequent new defect by backing up again the remaining one File Entry.
