To provide a method for continuously filling sausage meat with a conveying mechanism without relating to the air removal extent and filled level of a paste lump, and to provide a filling machine.

This filling machine comprises a conveying mechanism 14 disposed in the lower end portion 3 of a hopper 1, and conveying devices 4, 5 for conveying the paste lump from a hopper to the conveying mechanism 14, and the method therefor. In order to continuously and perfectly fill the conveying mechanism with the paste lump from the hopper 1, namely in order to fill without relating to the air removal extent and filled level of the paste lump, the conveying devices 4, 5 comprise the combination of a curved conveying portion 4 and a conveying spiral 5 disposed in the curved conveying portion 4.
