To obtain a glass produced by forming a titanium oxide film having a photocatalytic effect and both of optical and physical characteristics such as a property reflecting heat rays on a glass substrate surface without decreasing the transparency, flatness and smoothness of the substrate.
This glass has one or more coating films formed on at least one surface, and has a titanium oxide film produced by CVD method as the uppermost layer. In the X-ray (Cu Kα line) diffraction measurement of the titanium oxide film by normal method, diffraction peaks are obtd. at 3.5 A and 1.9 A of the distance d of crystal planes, and the diffraction intensity, namely the peak height at d=1.9A is ≥1/10 of the diffraction intensity at d=3.5 A. The film has a photocatalytic effect to develop oxidation reduction effect by energy of light.
