To provide a film feeding device and a film feeding method by which failure such as the change of film sensitivity is prevented even when a film package is loaded in plural channels.
This film feeding device is equipped with plural tray parts 11 and 12 in which the film package 1 constituted by packaging sheet film F in a rectangular packaging member 2 in a light shielding state can be loaded, take-up shafts 31 and 32 exposing the film so that it can be fed by drawing out the packaging member from the film package when a tray part is at a feeding feasible position, photointerrupters 51a, 51b, 52a and 52b detecting the amount of film in the tray part, and holding members 37 and 38 holding the film to feed the film after the film is exposed so that it can be fed at the feeding feasible position. Drawing out the packaging member is controlled based on the detected amount of the film.
