Title:
FILM FOR ORNAMENTATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2988751
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a film for ornamentation which is changed in color tones by angles of viewing under specified irradiating light, appears glittering beautifully like dispersed spectra of rainbow colors, has retroreflective performance to the irradiating light entering at an incident angle of a specific range and is suitable for applications, such as signboards, appliances for traffic safety, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This ornamental film has a supporting body 5, glass globules 2 held at this supporting body 5 by a fixing binder 2 and a thin reflection film 3 which is disposed between the supporting body 5 and the glass globules 2 and reflects the rays transmitted through the glass globules 2. The grain size of the glass globules 2 is ≤500μm and the refractive index thereof is ≥2.0. The rate of the embodiment of these glass globules in the fixing binder 1 is 10 to 80% of the grain size of the glass globules 2. The thin reflection film 3 is a metallic thin film formed by vapor deposition on the supporting body 5. The thin film has elliptic recesses 4 which have the depth of ≤50% of the grain size of the glass globules 2 and are formed to the elliptic shape concentric with the glass globules. The film comes into contact with the glass globules 2 in the recesses 4. A transparent protective layer 6 is laminated on the exposed side (front side) of the glass globules 2.
