To provide a film processing apparatus whose processing efficiency can be improved by advancing the timing of a scan processing start while enabling loop formation even when the space size of a loop formation space is limited.
The film processing apparatus which forms the loop during movement from a reception position to a passing position of a film delivery unit includes a loop quantity arithmetic means 71c of computing a loop quantity as length information on a photographic film which is looped, a loop quantity judging means 70a of judging whether the loop quantity computed by the loop quantity arithmetic means 71c is larger than a predetermined value or not, and a conveyance control unit which controls so as to convey the photographic film toward a film scanner FS side when loop formation is controlled so that the loop quantity reaches the predetermined value and the loop quantity judging means 70a judges that the loop quantity is larger than the predetermined value.
