PURPOSE: To obtain a film ribbon splicing method which can prevent turnup, tear, peeling of a splicing tape at a splicing part, and a ribbon cassette which can prevent double feed of the ribbon.

CONSTITUTION: In a splicing method wherein a film ribbon 13 made of a plastic film 11 whose one face is coated with a solid ink 12 is to be spliced by a splicing tape 14, an end of the splicing tape 14 is made to be slant with respect to the longitudinal direction of the film ribbon 13.
