To provide a film set mechanism in a novel packaging apparatus to joint a film in an extremely easy manner by facilitating the drawing, the guide and the setting of a starting end of the film in newly setting the film, solving problems with conventional packaging apparatuses in joining film ends with each other in replacing the film when the film is broken or the like, and providing a flat working surface to function as a working table in joining the broken films (which can be generally functioned as a film guide surface).

In the film set mechanism of the packaging apparatus, a horizontal guide part 10A to guide the film 1 to be drawn from a raw roll 1A in a substantially horizontal direction is provided in the vicinity of the raw roll 1A in the film guide apparatus of a pillow type packaging apparatus A, and the flat working surface 8 which can be used as the horizontal guide part 10A or as a working table to achieve the film joining to joint a terminating end 1B of the film with a starting end 1C of the film to be newly set below the horizontal guide part 10A is provided.
