Abstract:
PURPOSE:To manufacture plural filter enclosed optical fibers at a time by forming a base plate part and a lid part integrally of a plastic material. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal high polymer which has a small coefficient of linear expansion is used as the plastic material of the base plate 5 and lid 7. The base plate 5 is used, two optical fibers are prepared, and the jackets of the intermediate parts of the optical fibers are removed; and those parts are inserted into grooves 9 where the bare parts of the optical fibers are stored, and the parts with jacket are put in recessed parts 8 where the jacket parts of the optical fibers are stored and then fixed with an adhesive. Then the lid 7 is placed having its joined surface 11 matching the joined surface 10 of the base plate 5 and the surfaces 10 and 11 are fixed by an ultrasonic welding means. Then a specific part is cut to obtain two desired filter enclosed optical fibers.
