Title:
FILTER MATERIAL FOR TOBACCO SMOKE, FIBROUS CELLULOSE ESTER AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3420359
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a filter material for tobacco smoke free from losing tobacco taste, excellent in wet disintegration and capable of reducing environmental pullution.
CONSTITUTION: This filter material for tobacco smoke contains fibrillated fibrous cellulose ester. The fibrous cellulose ester has an average diameter of 15-250μm and a BET specific surface area of 0.5-4.5m2/g. The content of cellulose ester in the material is e.g. ≥20wt.%. The cellulose ester fiber is obtained e.g. by extruding a cellulose ester solution through a nozzle into a poor solvent for the cellulose ester. The cellulose fiber is fibrillated by shearing force generated in this process. The filter material can be used as a tobacco filter in e.g. fiber-, web- or sheet-form. An obtained taste of tobacco is good and the filter material is excellent in wet disintegration.
