PURPOSE: To efficiently regenerate a filter by forcibly feeding washing liquid into a housing case which houses a filter for filtering a coating material so that the filter can be taken out to dissolve and remove impurities of the filter before washing it with water.
CONSTITUTION: An ultrafilter 26 contaminated is housed in a housing case 38 and a cover 42 is closed to seal the cases. When a pump 34 is driven to forcibly feed water in a water storage tank 57 into the housing case 38, the water is circulated through the water storage tank 57, the pump 34, piping 46, the housing case 38, piping 52, 53 in this order to wash the ultrafilter 26 with water. Next the water washing is stopped and the pump 34 is driven to circulate washing liquid in a chemicals tank 32 through the chemicals tank 32, the pump 34, the piping 46, the housing case 38 and the piping 52 in this order, allowing the ultrafilter 26 to be washed with the washing liquid. After the ultrafilter 26 is washed with the washing liquid, it is washed with water again to take it out from the housing case 38 and arranged in a filter tank in a filtration mechanism.
