PURPOSE: To restore transmitted data which has a small error rate and to obtain a playback signal of high quality by using a white light source and a chromatic signal generating filter when a received signal is processed, and removing chromatic noises that the received signal contains and then compensating the inter-code interference of the received signal.

CONSTITUTION: A chromatic noise 9 is added by adder 5 to the output signal Sk8 of a transmission and reception system 1 and the received signal rk10 with contains the chromatic noise 9 is applied to the subtractor 6 of a filter block 16. Further, a white signal Uk11 is inputted to the chromatic signal generating filter 3 and processed by a cyclic filter of degree N, whose output signal nk' is inputted to the subtracter 6. This subtracter 6 subtracts the signal nk' from the received signal rk to generate an approximate signal SK' of the received signal Sk. This approximate signal SK' is applied to a waveform equivalent device 2 to compensate interference among codes of the received signal Sk, and a code decision device 4 outputs a decided signal 15 which has a small error rate.
