To provide a filtering device that has a simple and compact constitution, extremely easily performs filter change and maintenance of filtering device and efficiently filters tank water while preventing suction of fry.
The filtering device includes at least a front plate 10 having a shape and an area corresponding to the back face of a water tank 6, a filter 3 having a sheet-like filter medium to filter by a face and a drain pipe 4 having a connection part of air pump at the lower end side. The front plate 10 has a partition wall 11 in the vertical direction, making a plurality of communicating holes, on the rear face thereof, the back face is divided into a first wide region corresponding to the filter 3 and a second narrow region corresponding to the drain pipe 4 by the partition wall 11. In the first region, a plurality of water suction holes 12 that are arranged so as to correspond the sheet-like filter medium of the filter 3 are drilled, the front plate 10 is arranged at the back face of the water tank 6, the filter 3 is stored behind the first region and the drain pipe 4 is stored behind the second region.
