To provide a method for connecting the final connection sections of submerged caissons sunk on the water bottom.
In this final joint device for a submerged caisson, one connection section 12a of the final submerged caisson 12 and one existing submerged caisson 10 are shielded by bulkheads 13 respectively in a dry dock in advance, and a water stop gasket 14 is peripherally provided on the connection end face of the existing submerged caisson 10. Joint flanges 15, 16 are peripherally provided on the other connection section 12b, of the final submerged caisson 12 and the outer wall face of the existing submerged caisson 11 face to face. Multiple expansion joint bags 18 are provided between both joint flanges 15, 16 to surround the connection section 12b. When the sunk existing submerged caissons 10, 11 are to be connected, they are first connected by water pressure via the gasket 14, the joint bags 18 are extended to seal the joint flanges 15, 16 while a water passing hole 22 is kept open, a solidifying material is filled into the joint bags 18, and a water stop is applied between the final submerged caisson 12 and the existing submerged caisson 11.
