PURPOSE: To provide a fine circulatory blood flow-improving agent containing a saishin N-derivative as an active ingredient, extremely strongly increasing the fine circulatory blood flow of tunica mucosa ventriculi, and useful for treating and preventing various diseases such as blood flow failure.
CONSTITUTION: A fine circulatory blood flow-improving agent contains a saishin N-derivative of the formula [X is carbonyl, -CH-ORx, or -C(OR)-O-bound to C in Y or Z; Y, Z are carbonyl, -CH-ORy, or -CH- bound to O in X; Rx, Ry are H, alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl, acyl] as an active ingredient. The agent is effective for the therapy of pultaceous arteriosclerosis, pultaceous scelerosis, peripheral hematogenous disorder, cerebral thrombosis, cerebral infarction, cerebrovascular disease aftereffect, diabetic microangiopathy, cataract, ischemic heart disease, inflammatory intestinal disease, hepatic disease, pancreatitis, kidney disease, periodontal disease, frostbite, chilblain, crazing, and chaps. The compound of the formula is exemplified by 2,4-cis-1-methoxy-2,6,6- trimethyl-8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]octane-4-ol, and is administered at a dose of 1mg-10g a day for an adult.
