Title:
FINE POWDER FOR FORMATION OF INK RECEPTOR LAYER, MANUFACTURE OF THE FINE POWDER, RECORDING MEDIUM EMPLOYING THE FINE POWDER, AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD EMPLOYING THE RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3548450
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the speed of ink absorptiveness, and thereby improve the reproducibility of printing dot configurations by employing ones in which a total of the pore volume of pores having a specific value of the maximum pore diameter and pore diameter in fine powders forming an ink receptor layer of a recording medium at the time of making a pore diameter distribution of the fine powders.
SOLUTION: Fine powders of alumina hydrate or the like for formation of an ink receptor layer of a recording medium is prepared such that a total of the pore volume of pores having a maximum pore diameter of 90-120 &angst and a pore diameter of 50 &angst or less is 6.0% or less to the entire pore volume at the time of making a pore diameter distribution of fine particles. In addition, such fine particles is produced in that particles being N1 in the maximum pore diameter of a pore diameter distribution is subjected to post treatment to be N1≉n2 or N2<N1 as they are made into fine powders of the maximum pore diameter N2 through post treatment, and a total of the pore volume of pores having a pore diameter of 50 &angst smaller becomes 6.0% or less to the entire pore volume.
