To provide a fingerprint authentication unlocking system for safely and surely unlocking an apparatus according to fingerprint authentication in the apparatus causing a vibration/shock unsuitable for arrangement of a fingerprint sensor or a fingerprint authentication module.
The apparatus 2 has a lock device 3 unlockable only by a predetermined electric signal and has no power source. This fingerprint authentication unlocking device 1 arranged to the apparatus 2 by a hardly removable structure is provided with a storage device 4 storing data for specifying a person accessible to the apparatus 2, a controller 5 controlling the whole of the device, and a connection part 6 for connection to a fingerprint collation device 10 on the outside. In connection to the connection part 6, the fingerprint collation device 10 is supplied with power from a power source 11, reads fingerprint data in the specifying data from the storage device 4, collates the data with fingerprint data read from a fingerprint detection module 13, and outputs an authentication signal to the controller 5 if both of the fingerprint data correspond to each other. On the basis of the authentication data, the controller 5 unlocks the lock device 3.
