To automatically inform an individual or plural persons of the occurrence of a fire by preparing an electronic mail to inform the occurrence of the fire, selecting an optimum route from LAN, etc., or a public line to the individual or the plural persons and giving information by the electronic mail.
An alarm monitoring device 3 is connected to an electronic mail server 8 through LAN or RS 232C and a public communication line 7. The device 3 regularly monitors the operation and non-operation (namely the occurrence of a fire) of a device to be monitored 1 by an ICMP echo regularly monitoring means 4 and in the case of confirming non-operation, informs a means for making a fire alarm an electronic mail 5, which makes the occurrence of the fire a mail. An electronic mail delivering means 6 determines the addressee and the address of the electronic mail by the place of the device 1, switches to the public line 7 when it is impossible to send the electronic mail through LAN 2, and originates a call to the server 8 through the use of the line 7. This electronic mail is transferred and delivered to plural monitoring persons through an interface 9.
