PURPOSE: To obtain excellent abrasion resistance and wear resistance and to obtain excellent weatherability by providing a protective layer formed by dispersing polymer fine particles in a UV curing resin layer on an outer-most layer.

CONSTITUTION: The magneto-optical recording medium is constituted by successively forming a recording layer 2, a reflecting layer 3 as necessary and the protective layer 4 as the outer-most layer on a substrate 1. The protective layer 4 is constituted by dispersing fine particle polymer 6 in the UV curing resin layer 5. Urethane acrylate resin having flexibility and excellent corrosion resistance is suitable for the UV curing resin. A fine particle polymer means fine particle balls consisting of a resin and urethane resin having flexibility is especially suitable on the point of protecting the recording layer 2 from external forces.
