Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: energy consumption is increased when an area, where an image based on image information is not formed, is heated constantly at a fixing temperature for fixing toner unexpectedly sticking to a recording medium, in controlling the amount of heat to be applied to the recording medium for fixation processing.SOLUTION: Whether toner has stuck to a predetermined position of a recording medium having toner stuck thereto is determined. In fixing toner to the recording medium, it is determined whether toner exists in the predetermined position of the recording medium where an image based on image information is not formed. When presence of toner is determined, the amount of heat to be applied to the recording medium is controlled so that a temperature of the predetermined position may be higher than in the case where absence of toner is determined.
