PURPOSE: To provide a fixing device and transfer fixing device by which a high-grade fixed images is obtainable over a long period without faults and a long life is obtainable by improving the smoothness of a heating and pressurizing part where the surface of a heat generating element and a belt slide, thereby suppressing wear of this belt.
CONSTITUTION: This device applies heat energy from the exothermic element 13 to the toner image on a recording material 18 via the fixing belt 11 by arranging the heat generating element 13 on the inner circumferential face of the fixing belt 11 in contact with the inner circumferential surface of the belt, disposing a pressurizing member 20 to be pressed to the stationary heat generating element 13 via the fixing belt 11 to form a nip part N for heating and pressuring the fixing belt 11 and transporting the recording material 18 into the nip part N. The inner circumferential surface of the fixing belt 11 on which the heat generating element 13 slides, is coated with a solid lubricant. The surface on which the heat generating element slides with the fixing belt is coated with a protective layer formed by using a heat resistant member having an average surface roughness of ≤1μm and surface hardness of ≥200kg/mm2.
