PURPOSE: To prevent a floating toner from penetrating a cover and clean always the surface of a fixing roll with a cleaning member by providing plural cleaning members between the inside face of the cover and the outside circumferential face of the fixing roll.
CONSTITUTION: The covers 7 and 8 whose cross sections are approximately semicircular are provided to the cover surfaces of the fixing roll 5 and a pressurizing roll 6 in a fixing device from above and below in a lengthwise direction, and the inside faces of covers 7 and 8 are covered with heat resistant felt 16 and 17. Between the inside faces of the covers 7 and 8 and the outside circumferential faces of rolls 5 and 6, the plural cleaning members 18 and 19 consisting of metallic rolls of Al or the like which are brought into contact with the surfaces of the rolls 5 and 6 and are rotated in accordance with the rotation of these rolls are provided and have both ends supported by receiving parts on the side faces of the covers 7 and 8. The members 18 and 19 prevent the floating toner from penetrating the covers 7 and 8 and clean the surfaces of the rolls 5 and 6.
