Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a fixing roller which decreases the heat-up time and has excellent durability since damages in the fitting part with a gear member are prevented, by providing the fitting part with a reinforcing part.
CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing part is formed in a fitting part of a fixing roller 1 and a gear member. Usually, the fitting member is formed as a groove or a hole. The reinforcing member is formed as a projecting part around the groove or hole. As shown in figure (a), a U-shape groove 11 is formed and the edge of the groove is bent into inside to form a bulged part 12 around the groove to reinforce the groove. If a U-shape groove is formed, the edge of the cut area for the groove is bent by press forming or the like to form a reinforcing part around the groove. As a result, the thickness of the core metal is easily decreased to ≥0.7mm, more preferably 0.3-0.7mm. By making the core metal thin, the thermal response and thermal transmission characteristics of a fixing roller is significantly improved, which largely decreases the heat-up time.
