Title:
FLAME DETECTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3710540
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of detecting devices by detecting the distance between a nozzle and an object and presence/absence of the flame based on the electrostatic capacity of a capacitor which is provided with a sensing part in a peripheral part of a cutting nozzle and formed by the sensing part and the object.
SOLUTION: An object A is cut by the flame from a cutting nozzle 4. A sensing part 3 is provided in the vicinity of the nozzle 4. A ring-shaped electrode 3a of the sensing part 3 forms a capacitor C whose electrostatic capacity is changed by the clearance between the object A and the electrode. An oscillator 1 generates the reference signal of the low level and the high level. The reference signal is applied to the ring-shaped electrode 3a through a voltage divider 2 and an electrode tube 3b. When the reference signal is on the high level, the divided signal level is changed depending on the clearance (d) between the object A and the ring-shaped electrode 3a irrespective of presence/absence of the flame of the nozzle 4. When the reference signal is on the low level, the level of the divided voltage signal is changed depending on presence/absence of the flame for the same clearance (d). The divided voltage signal is detected by a detector 7 to judge presence/absence of the flame and the distance to the object.
