Title:
FLAME RETARDANT CLOTH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0874141
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a flame-retardant cloth excellent in flame retardance, capable of keeping an original shape even after burning, resistant to the formation of through holes even with welding spark, and having excellent properties such as resistance against skin irritancy which is common among inorganic fibers.

CONSTITUTION: This flame-retardant cloth is produced by using yarn obtained from a basic material consisting of silicic acid-containing rayon fiber. The silicic acid-containing rayon fiber is obtained by substituting rayon fiber with 30-33wt.% of silicic acid or aluminum silicate and does not burn in atmosphere. Although it burns with other fire flame, silica, alumina and unburnt carbon remain as ashes after burning. Accordingly, it is free from disintegration and burning-out, and the original shape is preserved. Thus, the characteristics of the silicic acid-containing rayon is exhibited in a flame-retardant cloth, as it is.
