Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a flame-retardant methacrylic resin plate which is transparent, self-extinguishing, and excellent in heat resistance. mechanical strengths, and flame retardance by selecting a flame-retardant cross-linked methacrylic resin plate contg. a specified amt. of a flame retardant and having a specified degree of cross-linking.
CONSTITUTION: This resin plate contains 10-25wt.%, pref. 10-20wt.%, flame retardant, pref, a phosphoric ester flame retardant, has such a degree of cross- linking that it has a degree of swelling of 5-15% in chloroform, and is exemplified by a resin plate obtd. by the cast polymn. of a mixture comprising methyl methacrylate, trimethylolpropane triacrylate, and a chlorinated alkyl polyphosphate in the presence of a polymn. catalyst.
