Abstract:

To provide new flame-retardant polyester and flame-retardant polyester film, having flame retardancy and hydrolysis resistance simultaneously.

A flame-retardant polyester is a copolyester including a phosphorus compound expressed by general formula (1) as a glycol component, as the copolymerization component, and also includes ≥90 mol% aromatic dicarboxylic acid in the dicarboxylic acid components, ≥90 mol glycol component expressed by general formula (1) and a ≤4C aliphatic glycol component in the glycol components, and 1,500 to 50,000 ppm phosphorus compound expressed by general formula (1) by phosphorus atoms based on the amount of the polyester.
