Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a molten glass reliably to a protruding piece while preventing the two widthwise end parts of the molten glass from peeling improperly from a guide surface.SOLUTION: A compact 1 for a sheet glass manufacturing apparatus comprises: an inverse slope part 5; a first thin wall part 8 for guiding a molten glass G at the widthwise two end parts of the inverse slope part 5; a protrusion piece 10 hanging from the first thin wall part 8 at a position corresponding to the widthwise two end parts of the lower end edge 5a of the inverse slope part 5; and a guide face 13 for guiding the molten glass G from the first thin wall part 8 to the protrusion piece 10. The guide face 13 includes a first portion 13a continuing to the first thin wall part 8, a second portion 13b continuing to the protrusion piece 10, and a third portion 13c leading to the second thin part 9 as an inverse slope part between the first portion 13a and the second portion 13b. The guide face 13 has the first portion 13a positioned over the second portion 13b, and gradually approaches the widthwise center side according to the movement from the first portion 13a to the second portion 13b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
