PURPOSE: To hold a linear cathode at high precision by forming grooves in a plate for positioning the linear cathode in the height direction, and disposing columnar bodies on these groove parts for positioning the linear cathode with relation to distance between pitches.
CONSTITUTION: Protrusions T1, T2 are formed in a plate material comprising alumina ceramic. The protrusion T1 is formed higher than T2, and a forward end part of T1 is rounded. Next, V-grooves 3 of a constant pitch are formed in a side surface on the side of the protrusion T2. The disposition pitch of the V-grooves 3 is similar to a disposition pitch of linear cathodes, and the number of the V-grooves 3 is more than the number of the linear cathodes. After this, columnar bodies 2 are fixed to the V-grooves to protrude from the protrusion T1, so a cathode holding plate is completed. For positioning the cathode by the cathode holding plate, the linear cathode is applied to a ridge line of the protrusion T1 for regulation in the height direction, and the linear cathode is applied to a side surface of the columnar body 2 for regulation in the disposition direction. Cutting due to friction is thus reduced, thereby the linear cathode can be held stably.
