PURPOSE: To remove simply and efficiently magnetic particles such as iron powder in a fluid, by using a flexible filter element prepared by bundling tubular filters of a cord fabric containing at least partly permanent-magnet fibers dispensing with an external magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: A flexible filter element is prepared by bundling tubular filters of a cord fabric 2 containing at least partly permanent-magnet fibers dispensing with an external magnetic field; for example, rigid magnetic fibers obtained by spinning a rigid magnetic material (e.g. an Fe-Cr-Co alloy) are magnetized by the heat treatment in a magnetic field to produce the permanent-magnet fibers. By using the filter prepared from the flexible filter element, magnetic particles such as iron powder included in a fluid can be removed simply and efficiently.
