PURPOSE: To realize an easy and stepless conformity to the change of the length of type area by a method wherein respective form cylinders and respective impression cylinders are connected respectively to separate driving lines and a period controlling device for steplessly controlling the rotational frequency ratio between the driving lines is provided.
CONSTITUTION: Form cylinders 2 and impression cylinders 5, which press a transferring material 9 in continuous form against these form cylinders 2, are arranged to be drivable with one driving motor 20 through a driving line 19 and with another driving motor 25 through a separate driving line 24. Further, the rotational frequencies between these driving lines 19 and 24 are steplessly controlled by means of a period controlling device 29 in response to the change of the length of the type area.
