Abstract:
PURPOSE:To stabilize the floating posture of a slider by forming a notch part different at the outer circumferential side and at the inner circumferential side on the floating surface of a floating head slider, and generating the approximately floating force between both. CONSTITUTION:When a taper part 6 formed at a floating surface 4 is the part formed on a floating surface 4a at the inner circumferential side to disk media and the part formed on a floating surface 4b at the outer circumferential side, the length of a taper part 6b formed at the outer circumferential side is set longer. The difference in the length between the inner circumferential side of such a taper part 6 and the outer circumferential side corresponds to the difference in the floating force to occur at floating surfaces 4a and 4b with the inner circumferential side and the outer circumferential side to disk media, and the length comes to the one to be able to cancel the difference in these floating forces. Consequently, thus, by changing the length of the taper part 6 of the floating surface 4 at the inner circumferential side and the outer circumferential side, a floating head slider 2 can be floated in the stable condition to the disk media.
