Title:
FLOATING AND TRANSPORTING DEVICE IN MOLTEN METAL BATH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0328357
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide sufficient lubrication between the outer arc surface part of an arc-shaped guide provided in the progressing direction of a band-shaped metal and the band-shaped metal and to prevent the generation of flaws on the metal surface by providing molten metal pools communicating to discharge holes in the arc surface part.

CONSTITUTION: The discharge holes 11 communicating with the inside and outside surfaces are formed on the arc-shaped guide 8 provided in the progressing direction of the band-shaped metal 3. The recessed molten metal pools 12 continuous with the discharge holes 11 are formed in the arc surface part 9 of the arc-shaped guide 8. The molten metal 6 is discharged from the inner side of the arc-shaped guide 8 through the discharge holes 11 to the arc surface part 9. The molten metal 6 is eventually distributed by having a sufficient strip in the arc surface part 9. The sufficient lubrication is, therefore, provided between the arc surface part 9 of the arc-shaped guide 8 and the band shaped metal 3 under traveling by the molten metal 6. In addition, the band-shaped metal 3 is floated from the arc surface part 8 and, therefore, the formation of rubbing flaws on the surface of the band-shaped metal 3 by the arc-shaped guide 8 is obviated.
