PURPOSE: To reduce the magnetic resistance of a closed magnetic path to obtain the head which is superior in reproduction efficiency by inserting a narrow-track magnetic head chip into the groove of the rail part of a slider made of a metal oxide magnetic body and adhering it.
CONSTITUTION: The narrow-track magnetic head chip 2 is inserted into the chip insertion groove 8 formed in the rail part 10 of the slider 1 made of Mn-Zn ferrite and adhered integrally with fused glass or an organic adhesive. The rear gap of a core formed of a metallic magnetic film 3 forming the magnetic circuit of this floating magnetic head is short-circuited magnetically by the lower bottom part 1b of the slider 1 made of Mn-Zn slider or set almost in the state, and the lower bottom part 1b is incorporated in part of the closed magnetic path. Consequently, the magnetic resistance is reduced and the record ing and reproduction efficiency is improved.
