Title:
FLOCCULATOR FOR PARTICLE IN HEAVY OIL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3217135
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject flocculator, equipped with an oil tank, a rotatable electrode and a scraper for scraping off deposits sticking to the electrode, capable of reducing the frequency of oil purification and improving the particle removal efficiency and enabling the continuous operation.
CONSTITUTION: This flocculator is equipped with plural sets of rotatable negative electrodes 1 and high-voltage positive electrodes 2 forming one set in an oil tank and a scraper 3 subjected to processing with Teflon(R) for scraping deposits sticking to the electrode and used to introduce a heavy oil from an inlet 5 of the oil tank. A voltage is then applied to the electrodes 1 and 2 in their states in which halves are dipped therein while rotating the electrode 1 5-30 times per min to completely prevent flocculates from sticking and depositing on the electrode without requiring the stop of the operation of the device for replacing the electrodes. Particles in the raw material oil can be removed at a high particle removal ratio and the heavy oil can be electrostatically purified in a manner extremely useful for recycling treatment of waste all, etc.
