To make the surface touch of a pile face soft and smooth, by flock finishing piles of specified thickness and length composed of composite fibers of polybutylene terephthalate on a base.
A polybutylene terephthalate(PBT) fibers are originally provided with remarkable pliability in the case of being used alone as pile threads, the threads tend to generate the permanent set in fatigue. The sufficiently soft and smooth surface touch free from the permanenet set in fatigue, therefore, can be provided by compounding a polymer other than PBT. When the length of single fibers constituting piles is too short, the feature of a static flock finished product is hard to be formed, while it is too long, the piles cannot be frock finished with high weight per unit area, and the piles in the range of 0.1-10.0mm are used suitably. When the thickness of single fibers is too fine, respective piles are interlocked and tack finishing cannot be performed well, while it is too thick, the surface touch of a pile flock finished product gets rough and hard, and the piles of 0.3-10d are used suitably.
