To minimize enthalpy of a refrigerant led to flow out from an expansion mechanism, in a fluid machine provided with a compression mechanism and the expansion mechanism and connected to a refrigerant circuit.
In a compression/expansion unit (30), both the compression mechanism (50) and the expansion mechanism (60) are stored in one casing (31). The compression mechanism (50) and expansion mechanism (60) are connected to each other through a shaft (40). The shaft (40) includes an upper shaft (101) and a lower shaft (106). The upper shaft (101) is engaged with the expansion mechanism (60) and the lower shaft (106) is engaged with the compression mechanism (50). Refrigerating machine oil is reserved in the bottom part of the casing (31). The refrigerating machine oil is fed to the compression mechanism (50) through the lower filler passage (93) of the lower shaft (106). Also, the refrigerating machine oil is fed to the expansion mechanism (60) through the filler pipe (26). The refrigerating machine oil flowing in the filler pipe (26) is led to flow into the expansion mechanism (60) after being cooled in an oil cooler (27) by the refrigerant.
