PURPOSE: To substantially eliminate leakage of fluid from a main fluid flowpath of a turbomachine by arranging an annular arm, an annular cavity and an ejector opening.
CONSTITUTION: An annular arm 24 projects over a clearance opening 20 into an outside region 22 of a main fluid flowpath 14 to form with an outer periphery of an adjacent stator blade 10 and an annular passage 26 communicating with the clearance opening 20. An annular cavity 28 having an ejector opening 30' with entire axial conformity is arranged on the outer periphery of the stator blade 10. The ejector opening 30' directs a pressurized supply of a buffer fluid as a jet thereof with relatively high speed into the annular passage 26. After the buffer fluid flowing from a supply pipe 32 to the annular cavity 28 is accelerated by the jet opening 30', it is provided with a great momentum and mixed with a flow 23 of the sealed fluid. The speed of a total flow 29 is reduced due to the rise of the static pressure caused by the dispersing annular passage 26. Consequently, the flow from the low-pressured outside region 22 to the main fluid flowpath 14 is provided with a higher static pressure.
