Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a fluid substance such as smoke sometimes spreads to a distant place from a site where fire started so that when fire detection is performed using smoke detection, fire cannot always be detected in cases where the fire source is ignored or hidden, but even when fire can be detected, personnel at the site may have to take time to adjust an imaging range and the early execution of their fire fighting activity is affected.SOLUTION: A fluid substance analyzer of the present invention calculates the area of a fluid substance such as smoke and the source of the fluid substance using the motion feature quantity of a video. The analyzer calculates the goodness of timing with which the presence of fire is detected using the calculated information. When the timing is not good, the analyzer generates a control command to operate a video input device and adjusts the imaging range of the video input device. When it is determined that the timing is good and that smoke is detected, the analyzer presents, by an output device, information about at least one or more of attributes such the existence of smoke and the area or source of the fluid substance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
