Abstract:

To obtain a fluid for traction drive usable not only in a power transmission mechanism but also applicable to a hydraulic control mechanism and a frictional characteristic control mechanism of a wet type clutch.

This fluid for traction drive comprises (A) a naphthene ring- containing compound represented by the following general formula (1) and (B) a saturated polycyclic hydrocarbon compound prepared by hydrogenating a trimer compound of a cyclopentadiene-based condensed hydrocarbon compound obtained by the Diels-Alder reaction of cyclopentadiene, further isomerizing the resultant compound and regulating the pour point to ≤-10°C.
