Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure, shorten an axial size and attain a compact design by applying a ratchet system to a one-way clutch laid in an oil flow passage between a pump impeller and a turbine runner.
SOLUTION: A stator 18 is fitted with a one-way clutch OW1, and this clutch OW1 joints and secures the stator 18 to a fixed shaft 16, upon the exposure of the vane 18b of the stator 18 to certain unidirectional torque from an oil flow. Also, the clutch OW1 causes the rotation (racing) of the stator 18, upon the exposure of the vane 18b to torque in the other direction. Furthermore, the one-way clutch OW1 has an outer race 28 and an inner race 30, and a ratchet 40 is provided between the races 28 and 30. Also, the peripheral end of the inner race 30 is provided with a ratchet wheel 30a for engagement with the ratchet 40. According to this construction, the number of parts is reduced and a configuration is simplified, thereby attaining a compact design, as the one-way clutch OW1 is formed as ratchet type.
